As far as red southern clay goes, I had great mudplay (and you know what else) at a gay-owned campground in northern GA (River's Edge) a while ago, and at the Redneck Olympics in Dublin, GA where a mudpit bellyflop is held, quite popular.
Best though was Louisiana MudFest I went to once with a couple other mudders. Definitely the "champagne" of red clay mud....You could even just go as a spectator the way we did and definitely muddy it up.....
