The comments from Felix make me remind something that happened several years ago. I was with some friends down at a cabin by the sea. It was late fall and I think it must have been October. Not the very best time for swimming. I had a small sail boat down there, one step up from a surf board. It was of the kind you could capsize and stand on the keel to turn it right again. I sneaked out to our small quest house, undressed, took on a wet suit and outside wide jeans and a wide sweather. Then I took the small sailboat out for a trip and capsized several times. My friends were impressed and surprised how I enjoyed it in the cold water. Afterwords I revealed the wetsuit. I enjoyed it.
