Love at first sight is largely a Hollywood construction, to get teenager's longings fulfilled. One can enjoy the bonding of a woman's compliment without feeling the need to love her :) She can't possibly know you from a single chance meeting (unless she's been stalking you, ewww) and there's always another fish in the sea (hopefully a wet one, lol). Workplace romances tend to be more realistic, as the woman will have met you several times, and therefore know your skills and limitations, rhther than building the relationship on hopes and idealism. It's still fun to be chatted up or admired by a random woman in the street though, but not usually a basis for a relationship (though it might be a good intro for one under certain circumstances (like a pool party for example)).
